Euthanasia & End-of-Life Care
Providing compassionate support for you and your pet during a difficult time.
Knowing When It’s Time: A Quality of Life Discussion
Making the decision to relieve a pet’s suffering with euthanasia is the most difficult choice a pet owner can face. It’s a final act of love and compassion to end pain that can no longer be managed. At Harmony Pet Clinic, our veterinarian and staff are committed to supporting your family through this process with kindness and empathy.
Deciding if it’s the right time can be confusing and emotional. A helpful way to assess your pet’s situation is by considering their quality of life. Ask yourself these questions:
- Is my pet still eating and drinking enough?
- Can they move without pain and get up on their own?
- Do they still show interest in their favorite activities, like walks, toys, or interacting with the family?
- Are they having more bad days than good days?
There is no single right answer, and this decision is deeply personal. We are here to help. A quality-of-life consultation with our veterinarian can provide a medical perspective and help you make an informed, compassionate choice that is right for your beloved companion.
Our Services & Support for Your Family
Our euthanasia services are performed with care and respect at the clinic. We offer several options for aftercare through our end-of-life partners, including general or private cremation. With private cremation, you can have your pet’s ashes returned to you in an urn as a lasting memorial.
Dealing with Grief
The loss of a pet is the loss of a family member. The grief you feel is real and valid. It’s important to allow yourself time to mourn. Creating a small memorial, sharing fond memories with family, and simply acknowledging the depth of your bond can be helpful parts of the healing process. Please know that we understand what you are going through and are here to offer support.
